Located in the heart of Andrews Bridge Hunt Country is Principia Stables, home of MK Equestrian.  The facility is fantastic for producing top level horses for just about any discipline, especially eventing!  There are multiple barns, ample turn out, several large tack rooms and plenty of organized space for tack and equipment.  There is 24/7 monitoring of the horses and the property as our devoted working students, as well as Molly and Bryce Kinnamon, live on site.

  • 26 stalls
  • 5 heated wash stalls
  • 3 tack rooms
  • washer & dryer
  • Blanket storage
  • trailer parking
  • Top quality hay
  • Top quality feed
  • single or paired turn-out

The outdoor area for training the horses includes a vast grass stadium area and a large ring that has recently been renovated by Ringmasters with new footing.  Both areas offer horses a variety of stadium jumps and the grass field also has plenty of logs, coops, corners, skinnies and a ditch for XC schooling.  There is also a 20/40 dressage court perfect for practicing your flat work during favorable weather. When it is cold or rainy, we also have a large indoor ring with the following amenities:

  • Hassler Footing
  • Mirrored Wall
  • Lighting

The facility is also fully equipped with a Euro Walker System with rubber footing and capacity for 4 horses. The surrounding area, home to the Andrew’s Bridge Fox Hounds, offers miles of hacking and conditioning work.   We are also close to many of the area events and training facilities in the Unionville area and the MD/PA/De and Area II events!

AndrewAllisonSophieHumePrincipia Farm is owned by the Hulme family.  Originally from England,  Andrew and Allison Hulme really fell in love with the beauty of the Andrew’s Bridge community.   The farm is nestled in the center of Andrew’s Bridge Hunt country with topography perfect for conditioning, and the Hulme family recognized the importance of this benefit for event horses and riders.  Every year the Hulmes continue to help improve the farm and to develop it as one of the best training facilities in the area.  Together we agree that the number one priority operating an equestrian business is to ensure that the horses are happy and healthy; and the facility at Principia Farm provides that environment.

The Hulme family is vested in the equestrian industry and that tradition carries on through their daughter, Sophie Hulme, who is studying abroad at Hartpury in England, pursuing her passion with event horses and Equine Science studies.

MKE is fortunate the have such a fabulous partnership with our facility owners.
